Abstract
The aim of this article is to reconstruct the commercial and cultural politics developed by Seix Barral Editors to relocate Spanish publishing in an international field of circulation of books and print. After presenting a brief panorama of the Spanish book's politics of expansion in Hispano-America, the strategies carried out by the Catalan publishing house will be analyzed; these involved a bold politics of translation as a means to create a bridge between Spain and America
